She is pretty well developed as a character and I like the fact that you can understand her point of view clearly. She acts on what she is rather than disconcerting the reader by acting contrary to her nature ( a pet peeve of mine...did you guess? heh)

The writer Dorothy Gillman, she does a pretty good job keeping her main group of characters pretty tight; only introducing a manageable handful to populate her story.
